This record documents long-term trumpet section leadership before UCL. Rui served for six years as section leader in a high-level Shanghai student symphony orchestra, working in a competitive youth-orchestra environment with sustained rehearsals, section responsibility, and large ensemble discipline.
The orchestra won Gold Prize in the Shanghai Student Symphonic Wind Ensemble Performance in 2016, awarded by the Shanghai Musicians Association. It also secured Model Orchestra status, the highest level of achievement, at national music competitions in 2017, 2021, and 2023, awarded by the Chinese Musicians Association.
